Northwest Road Trip: Wenatchee to Kamloops

Something here about “best laid plans…”?

After my recent dramatic exit, I find myself suddenly back in the Pacific Northwest. Funny how things work out sometimes- my plan was to move to Paso to help my mom with her house and business, while George stayed in Washington for work. Now he is also transitioning out of his job and we find ourselves with some overlapping free time. To best take advantage of it we decided to go on the British Columbia/Alberta/Montana/Idaho/Washington road trip loop we’ve had in mind for a while now before he moves back to California. So here I am in Central Washington where we will head out on the beginning of a long adventure in the Northwest and beyond.

Step 1) Plan to sleep in the car most of the trip to save money.

Step 2) Realize it’s too cold in Canada in the winter to do that.

Step 3) Realize that gas is $1.98 right now and then stop all planning, generally.

And so the Great Northwest Road Trip of 2015 begins! The plan is to head along 97 north to Kamloops which is the seat of the Canadian Rockies. We had intended this to be a summer trip, but hey I like taking pictures of snow too!
